The Living Room is a large, flexible space at the base of the grand staircase of Saint Peter’s Church. The Living Room is also accessible by elevator. While the space is wide and open, it can be partitioned for segmented use.
The term “Living Room” may bring to mind a variety of associations. The name is used at Saint Peter’s Church to emphasize dynamic and life-affirming community within a dense corporate environment. For this reason, while the space is clean and simple, it is also warm and inviting.
Group or individual use of the Living Room can be arranged for events and functions, as well as for meetings and workshops for the good of the community or a not-for-profit organization.
Receptions often take place in the Living Room, as well as medium sized meetings and special events. Coffeehouse- and cabaret- like performances work very well in this space. Film showings and presentations requiring audio-visual equipment are often held in the Living Room.
The Living Room houses a Steinway grand piano and a rotating gallery space.
A comprehensive audio-visual system is fully integrated into the entire space, including a recessed projector unit. Tables, chairs and some other common furniture items are available.
A series of doors connect the Living Room with the Sanctuary, an ideal place for a large event. A Warming Pantry, inclusive of an integrated service area, adjoins the Living Room.
Fully accessible and family-friendly restrooms are located at the rear of the space.
A space use request form is available for download. Use a typewriter tool to complete the form and follow printed directions. Space use requests are reviewed every other week by a small committee that determines the feasibility of the request.
