Telemundo 47 | Reunificación de familias mexicanas en Nueva York
December 14, 2023
On December 14, Thursday, we welcome 38 families to the United States, led by Padre Fabian, at the Meeting of Cultures at St. James Episcopal Church in Queens, NY. This is a special reunification, as it is the first with families from all different areas of Mexico. The Mè’pháá, Ñuu Savi, Otomí, Nahuált and Zapoteco peoples are a part of the diverse makeup of these new arrivals, of which we give thanks. At this moving event, families received a blessing from Bishop Paul T. Egensteiner, and give thanks, praise, and reflection for those who trusted and supported this ministry from the beginning.
We heard from Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio Cortez, Representative of the 14th District in New York, Congresswoman Grace Meg, Representative of the 6th District of New York and the Senator Jessica Ramos, Senator of District 13, who we thank for accompanying us to the very end, and never leaving us.
This event could not have been possible without Pucomit: Pueblos y Comunidades Indígenas Transfronterizos and Raza Zapoteca.
