Memorial for Curtis Fuller

Please join us on Zoom for a memorial for jazz trombone great Curtis Fuller, who passed away at the age of 88, on May 8 in Detroit.

Mr. Fuller was a key player in the development of the style known as hard bop in the 1950s and 60s, appearing on classic albums by John Coltrane, Art Blakey, Lee Morgan, Hank Mobley, and many more. He also recorded his own albums as a leader for the pivotal jazz labels of the time, such as Blue Note, Impulse!, and Prestige. He went on to have a vital decades-long career, and is regarded as one of the most important trombonists to have ever played jazz.
