Help Us Help Refugees and Immigrants with Supplies on June 23

HELP US HELP REFUGEES AND IMMIGRANTS

Saint Peter's Advocacy Cabinet, Metro NY Synod Sanctuary Ministry and the Mayor's Office for Faith and Community Affairs will host a respite day for refugee and immigrant children living in detention at Nevelson Chapel on Saturday, June 29th. Due to the nature of the event, we cannot have volunteers but we do need your help!

What we need
Please bring to church this coming Sunday any small to medium sized boxes you can donate for an art therapy activity. Shoe boxes. Copy paper boxes. Amazon boxes. We'll use them all!

Also needed are pieces of felt, construction paper and crayons or colored pencils. We'll even use things you might consider junk -- like toilet paper tubes, half used pencils, and (as is typical of Nevelson and a strong presence in the Chapel) clothes pins!

When we need it
Sunday, June 23

What to do with it
Please bring boxes and these supplies to church and leave them at the reception desk.

What's the significance
Today is International Refugee Day and Sunday is Refugee Sunday. This is a local and impactful way to get involved in ministering to the most vulnerable in our midst.

If you can't be in church on Sunday?
You can still help! Please send an email to Pastor Stahler at jrstahlerATsaintpeters.org and arrange to drop off your donations early in the week.
