Please join us for Walter Hilse’s twenty-seventh consecutive annual recital at Saint Peter’s Church.
A special feature of the program will be the world premiere of Hilse’s Fantasy on “O Quanta Qualia,” a set of eleven variations, in different styles and forms, on the majestic 17th century hymn tune.
Also, following the enthusiastic reception to Finnish organist Kalle Toivio’s new transcriptions for organ of Vivaldi concertos at last year’s recital, Hilse will offer a second transcription on this year’s program: the “Concerto in B-flat Major, Op. 9, No. 9.”
Other selections include Bach’s “Trio Sonata No. 6 in G Major,” his prelude on “Schmücke dich, o liebe Seele," and his monumental “Passacaglia and Fugue in C Minor,” as well as Nicolaus Bruhns’ “Praeludium in E Minor.”
This recital is a benefit for the maintenance of the Saint Peter’s organ. Suggested donation is $20 ($15 for students and AGO members). For updated information about Dr. Hilse, please visit his website at http://walterhilse.com/
