Saint Peter's presents a new setting of the Passion according to Saint Luke in a liturgy for Good Friday, April 2, 2021 at 12:00 noon. A long-standing in-person tradition at Saint Peter's, given the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic this year's Passion will be presented via live stream. 

About the Passion

Saint Peter's commissioned William Cooper, composer, and Brian Alvarado, poet, to create this Passion setting. The artists were given broad latitude, with the only direction from the church being to capture the realities of living amidst global pandemic and the urgency of the making of justice in our time, particularly with regard to race, immigration and the environment. The commission also required a safe and health-sustaining performance.
